Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust is a tragic play in two parts: (translated as: ) and (). Although rarely staged in its entirety, it is the play with the largest audience numbers on German-language stages. Faust is Goethe's most famous work and considered by many to be one of the greatest works of German literature.

Mit Goethes Faust wird Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Bearbeitung des Fauststoffes bezeichnet. Es kann damit speziell der erste Teil gemeint sein, oder gemeinsam der erste und der zweite Teil, oder insgesamt Goethes im Verlauf von sechzig Jahren immer wieder neu aufgenommene Arbeiten am Fauststoff, einschließlich der Entwürfe, Fragmente, Paralipomena und Kommentare.

Deux pièces de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe sont intitulées Faust, du nom d'un alchimiste allemand du , héros d'un conte populaire et de pièces de Christopher Marlowe et Lessing. Goethe a travaillé sur le thème de Faust pendant une longue partie de sa vie et Faust est souvent considérée comme l'oeuvre la plus importante de la littérature allemande. La première pièce, souvent appelée Faust I, a été publiée dans sa version définitive en 1808. La seconde, ou Faust II est une "suite" au Faust I publiée peu après la mort de l'auteur, en 1832.
