Gobi Desert
The Gobi (, "semidesert"; ) is a large desert region in Asia. It covers parts of northern and northwestern China, and of southern Mongolia. The desert basins of the Gobi are bounded by the Altai Mountains and the grasslands and steppes of Mongolia on the north, by the Hexi Corridor and Tibetan Plateau to the southwest, and by the North China Plain to the southeast. The Gobi is most notable in history as part of the great Mongol Empire, and as the location of several important cities along the Silk Road.

Désert de Gobi
Le désert de Gobi est une vaste région désertique comprise entre le nord de la Chine et le sud de la Mongolie. Il englobe environ un tiers de la surface de la Mongolie. Le bassin désertique est délimité par les montagnes de l'Altai, la steppe de Mongolie, le plateau tibétain et la plaine du nord de la Chine. Au sens propre, le mot « gobi » (prononcé gov) désigne en mongol un territoire semi-aride (le désert est appelé tsöl).

Gobi
Gobi är en omkring 1 295 000 km² stor högplatå i östra Centralasien (södra Mongoliet och nordvästra Kina) på i genomsnitt 1000 meter över havet. Den omgärdas av bergskedjorna Bei Shan i väster, Altajbergen och Changajbergen i norr, Stora Hinggan i öster och Qilian Shan i söder. Största delen av platån upptas av Gobiöknen.

Gobiöknen
Gobiöknen är ett stort ökenområde på Gobiplatån i östra Centralasien. Det är en av världens största öknar och den sträcker sig över södra Mongoliet och norra Kina.

Gobi
Gobi - (mong. Gow' - miejsce bezwodne) - wyżynny obszar stepów, półpustyń i pustyń w Azji Wschodniej, leżący na terenie południowej Mongolii i północnych Chin. Jest uznawany za największą pustynię Azji.
Gobi ma ponad 2 miliony km² powierzchni. Jest pustynią kontynentalną. Tworzą ją głównie żwirowo-kamieniste górzyste i wyżynne mniejsze pustynie, półpustynie oraz suche stepy, rozdzielone pasmami wysokich gór. Większa część pustyni leży na wysokościach 900 - 1120 m n.p.m., oprócz tego licznie występują tam masywy górskie, przede wszystkim Ałtaju Gobijskiego. Klimat kontynentalny, latem temperatura sięga 45°C, a w zimie dochodzi do - 41°C. Roczne opady wynoszą od 50 do 200 mm w zależności od rejonu. Na Gobi brak jest stałych rzek, liczne są natomiast koryta rzek okresowych (do 70 km długości) zwanych sajrami. Obszary piaszczyste są nieliczne, skupione głównie przy środkowej części granicy chińsko - mongolskiej. Gobi jest najdalej wysuniętą na północ pustynią (nie licząc lodowych pustyń) na świecie.
