Glasgow (Glaschu in Gaelic meaning "dear green place"; or Glesca/Glesga in Scots) is the largest city in Scotland and third most populous in the United Kingdom. The City of Glasgow is the most populous unitary authority area. It is situated on the River Clyde in the country's west central lowlands. A person from Glasgow is known as a Glaswegian. Glaswegian is also the name of the local dialect.

Essa si trova sul fiume Clyde nelle Lowlands centro occidentali.Glasgow è la capitale economica della Scozia nonché la terza città britannica per numero di turisti stranieri dopo Londra ed Edimburgo. È sede della quarta più antica università della Gran Bretagna, la University of Glasgow che fu fondata nel 1451. La Glasgow city è una delle 32 aree amministrative della Scozia dalla riforma del governo locale del 1999 (prima di tale riforma la città era il capoluogo della regione di Strathclyde).
