Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (; born Gheorghe Gheorghiu; November 8, 1901, Bârlad – March 19, 1965, Bucharest) was the Communist leader of Romania from 1948 until his death in 1965.

Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej
Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, född som Gheorghe Gheorghuiu den 8 november 1901 i Bârlad, död 19 mars 1965 i Bukarest, var Rumäniens kommunistiska ledare från 1948 fram till sin död 1965. Han var även landets regeringschef 1952 och 1955 och statschef mellan 1961 och 1965.

Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej
Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (ur. 8 listopada 1901 w Bîrlad, zm. 19 marca 1965 w Bukareszcie) – rumuński polityk i komunistyczny przywódca państwowy.

W 1933 r. Gheorghiu-Dej zorganizował słynny strajk rumuńskiej kolei, za który został skazany na ciężkie więzienie.

23 sierpnia 1944 przejął kierownictwo nad Komunistyczną Partią Rumunii, w październiku 1945 z kolei mianowano go z inspiracji Stalina seketarzem generalnym Partii. Georghiu-Dej odpowiedzialny jest za czarną noc stalinizmu w Rumunii: kolektywizację wsi, nacjonalizację przemysłu oraz bewzględną rozprawę w przeciwnikami politycznymi (opozycjoniści wykorzystywani byli m.in. przy budowie Kanału Dunaj-Morze Czarne) za pomocą Securitate.
