The Marine ) is the navy of Germany and is part of the unified Bundeswehr (the German Armed Forces). It is deeply integrated into the NATO alliance. Its mission is protection of German and Allied territories as well as peace-keeping and peace enforcement operations.

Deutsche Marine
Die Deutsche Marine ist mit etwa 18.000 Soldaten die kleinste der drei Teilstreitkräfte der Bundeswehr. Die Bezeichnung Deutsche Marine trägt sie seit 1995 (zuvor inoffiziell Bundesmarine). Sie wird truppendienstlich vom Inspekteur der Marine geführt.
