Gaza Strip

The Gaza Strip ( , Retzu'at 'Azza) is a coastal strip of land along the Mediterranean, bordering Egypt on the south-west and Israel on the north and east. It is about long, and between 6 and 12 kilometers (4–7.5 mi) wide, with a total area of . The territory takes its name from Gaza, its main city. It has about 1.4 million residents, all Palestinians.

Der Gazastreifen (, auch Gasastreifen) ist ein Küstenstreifen am Mittelmeer. Er gehört zu den Palästinensischen Autonomiegebieten und steht im Inneren formal unter Verwaltung der Palästinensischen Autonomiebehörde. Faktisch wird der Gazastreifen gegenwärtig von der radikalislamischen Hamas kontrolliert. Israel nimmt die Kontrolle der Außengrenzen auf der nördlichen und östlichen Landseite, der westlichen Seeseite sowie die indirekte Kontrolle des Personenverkehrs über Videoschaltung auf der Südseite wahr (in Zusammenarbeit mit Ägypten und der Europäischen Union). Auch in der Wasser- und Stromversorgung sowie der Telekommunikation ist der Gazastreifen nicht autonom und von Israel abhängig.

Strefa Gazy lub Okręg Gazy (ar. قطاع غزة Kita Ghazzah; heb. רצועת עזה Recuat Azza) - część Palestyny. Obejmuje ona niewielki skrawek wybrzeża śródziemnomorskiego w okolicach miasta Gaza, przy granicy z Egiptem. Jej powierzchnia wynosi 378 km², a zamieszkuje ją 1,5 miliona  Palestyńczyków, (z czego ok. 75% to uchodźcy a 50% z nich żyje w obozach). Strefa Gazy jest jednym z najgęściej zaludnionych terenów na ziemi.

Col termine Striscia di Gaza (in arabo قطاع غزة traslitterazione: Qita' Ġazzah/Qita' Ghazzah, in ebraico: רצועת עזה Retzu'at 'Azza) si indica un territorio confinante con Israele e Egitto nei pressi della città di Gaza. Si tratta di una piccola regione costiera (una striscia di circa 360 km² di superficie) ma densamente popolata (circa 1.500.000 abitanti, di cui oltre il 99% palestinesi).
