Gallia Narbonensis (, from the chief settlement of Narbonne) was a Roman province located in what is now Languedoc and Provence, in southern France. It was also known as Gallia Transalpina (Transalpine Gaul), which was originally a designation for that part of Gaul lying across the Alps from Italia and it contained a western region known as Septimania (see Septimania timeline). It became a Roman province in the late 2nd century BC, constituting the first significant Roman territory outside of Italy. Its boundaries were roughly defined by the Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Cévennes and Alps and north and west.

Gallia Narbonensis war eine Römische Provinz im heutigen Südfrankreich. Die Bezeichnung als Provinz führte dazu, dass ein Teil der Landschaft noch heute Provence genannt wird.

La Gaule narbonnaise était une province de l'Empire romain fondée à partir de la toute première colonie créée par les Romains sur le territoire de l'actuelle France, dès 118 avant J.C. Cette colonie primitive, Narbonne, implantée sur la côte aux environs d'un petit fleuve côtier, l’Aude, donnera son nom par la suite à la future province gallo-romaine. Les Romains lui donnèrent le nom de Narbo Martius, la ville dédiée au « dieu Mars ». Aquae Sextiae (Aix-en-Provence), est fondée à la même époque en -122.

Transalpina Gallien (latin: Gallia Transalpina), senare Gallia Narbonensis, betyder "Gallien på andra sidan Alperna" eller "Bortre Gallien" (latin) och användes av romarna för att beskriva det område nordväst om Italien som beboddes av galler.
