Dans la mythologie grecque, Gaïa, Gaia , Gaya , Gaiya , Gæa ou Gè (en grec ancien  / Gaĩa, / Gaĩê ou / Gễ) est une déesse primordiale identifiée à la « Terre-Mère ». Elle est l'ancêtre maternelle des races divines, mais enfante aussi de nombreux monstres. Elle apparaît en outre comme une divinité chtonienne que l'on invoquait ou à laquelle on sacrifiait des victimes de couleur sombre en même temps qu'aux autres puissances infernales (telles qu'Hadès, Perséphone, Hécate ou la Nuit ; Virgile, Enéïde).

Gaia (grekiska Γαία) eller Ge (Γη) var i grekisk mytologi moder Jord. Ordet gaia betyder "mark", "land", "jorden". Ge är samma ord fast på den attiska dialekten (som talades i Aten). Gaia var jordens, moderlighetens och fruktbarhetens gudinna. Namnet påminner om det grekiska ordet giagia (γιαγιά) som betyder mormor och farmor.
