Geschäfts- oder Firmenwert
Der Geschäfts- oder Firmenwert (GoF) entspricht dem Ertragswert abzüglich des Substanzwertes eines Unternehmens. Der Substanzwert weicht von den Buchwerten ab, da er zum Zeitpunkt der Übernahme, also in Zeitwerten bewertet wird (§246 I S.3 HGB) und normalerweise auch die Stillen Reserven berücksichtigt.

Goodwill
Le Goodwill (appelé aussi survaleur) est la différence entre l'actif du bilan d'une entreprise et la somme de son capital immatériel et matériel valorisée à la valeur de marché.
Le Goodwill est plus précisément un écart d'acquisition correspondant à l'excédent du coût d'acquisition, lors d'une prise de participation ou d'une fusion, sur la quote-part de l'acquéreur dans la juste valeur des actifs et passifs identifiables (selon la norme internationale IFRS 3).

Goodwill
Goodwill, inom företagsekonomin, uppstår då man köper ett företag till ett högre pris än det bokförda värdet på företagets eget kapital. Ofta får man betala betydligt mer för att varumärket är välkänt, att man har know-how, inarbetad kundkrets m.m.

Goodwill
De Engelse term Goodwill betekent in het Nederlands letterlijk: welwillendheid. In de bedrijfskunde wordt de term echter (ook in Nederland) gebruikt voor een prijs die betaald wordt boven de redelijke prijs van een bedrijf.
Als een bedrijf een ander bedrijf aankoopt, dan is er eigenlijk altijd sprake van goodwill of badwill. Dit is in feite iets wat niets met de verkoper, maar met de koper te maken heeft.
Ter verduidelijking zullen we een voorbeeld geven. Stel de heer Voorbeeld, directeur van B.V. 1, wil het bedrijf van de directeur van B.V. 2 kopen.
