Geosphere
Sphere
A sphere (from Greek σφαῖρα — sphaira, "globe, ball") is a perfectly round geometrical object in three-dimensional space, such as the shape of a round ball. Like a circle, which is in two dimensions, a perfect sphere is completely symmetrical around its center, with all points on the surface lying the same distance r from the center point. This distance r is known as the "radius" of the sphere. The maximum straight distance through the sphere is known as the "diameter" of the sphere. It passes through the center and is thus twice the radius.

Geosphäre
Die Geosphäre ist der Bereich der Erdoberfläche im Rahmen eines theoretisch-abstrahierenden Schichtenmodells. Dabei werden jeder Sphäre oder geoökologischen Schicht ihre Geokomponente gegenüber gestellt.

Sphère
Une sphère est une surface à deux dimensions, plongée dans l'espace à trois dimensions, dont tous les points sont situés à une même distance d'un point appelé centre. La valeur de cette distance commune au centre est appelée le rayon de la sphère. Elle n'inclut donc pas les points situés à une distance inférieure au rayon, au contraire de la boule. Concrètement, on peut voir une sphère comme une coquille vide infiniment mince.

Geosfera
Geosfera é um termo que denota o corpo sólido da terra (exemplos: Hidrosfera, Litosfera (incluindo a pedosfera) e em algumas definições também é descrita como a parte interna da terra) e a atmosfera da terra (até a exosfera).
A Geosfera é costituida pelo núcleo do globo, pelo manto e pela Litosfera. O núcleo tem aproximadamente 3500km de espessura e é constituido essencialmente por ferro, sendo portanto muito denso. É costituído por uma parte interior sólida com cerca de 1200km e por uma parte líquida. O manto terrestre estende-se desde cerca de 30 km de profundidade (podendo ser bastante menos nas zonas oceânicas) até aos 2 900 km abaixo da superfície (transição para o núcleo). A astenosfera é a parte superior do manto, econtra-se em estado líquido. Os movimentos de convecção e divergência do material plástico dão origem aos movimentos das placas tectónicas. A litosfera é a camada superior, constituida pela crosta oceânica e pela crosta continental. A crosta oceânica é mais fina (3 a 10km) e densa que a crosta continental (35-50km).
