GDPS

Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS) is a family of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions based on IBM mainframe technology. It is a service offering supplied by IBM, rather than a software product. GDPS runs as a Netview application, making full use of SA390. It monitors all the LPARs in the Sysplex, both OSs and Coupling Facilities, it also monitors the DASD whether PPRC or XRC is being used to mirror the data. The GDPS family includes: - GDPS/HyperSwap Manager. It is a business continuity solution based on a syncronous mirroring technology (PPRC). It implements the HyperSwap technology that allow an application-transparent swap of storage devices.
