Fuerzas armadas
Las Fuerzas Armadas son las fuerzas militares y paramilitares de un Estado. Existen para favorecer la política exterior de su cuerpo diplomático, y constituyen el principal recurso de la defensa nacional. La fuerza armada es el empleo de las fuerzas armadas para alcanzar objetivos políticos.
El estudio del empleo de las fuerzas armadas es conocido como la ciencia militar. En sentido amplio esto involucra la consideración de ofensa y defensa en tres "niveles": estrategia, arte operativo y táctica. Cada una de estas áreas estudian la aplicación del uso de la fuerza para alcanzar un objetivo deseado.
