Frigg

In Norse mythology, Frigg (Eddas) or Frigga (Gesta Danorum) was said to be "foremost among the goddesses," the wife of Odin, queen of the Æsir, and goddess of the sky. One of the Ásynjur, she is a goddess of fertility, love, household management, marriage, motherhood, and domestic arts. Her primary functions in the Norse mythological stories are as wife and mother, but these are not her only functions. She has the power of prophecy although she does not tell what she knows , and is the only one other than Odin who is permitted to sit on his high seat Hlidskjalf and look out over the universe.

Sie ist die Schutzherrin der Ehe und Mutterschaft.Es bestehen viele Parallelen zur Göttin Freya, der Göttin der Liebe und der Fruchtbarkeit, mit der sie in neuzeitlichen Rezeptionen oft gleichgesetzt oder verwechselt wird. Frigg bekleidet jedoch durch ihren Gatten eine zentralere Rolle. Ihre Dienerinnen sind Gna, Fulla, Sygn, Vara, Eira, Hlin, Lofn und Vjofn.

Frigg była małżonką Odyna, boginią małżeństwa, opiekunką rodziny i bóstwem deszczu. Wg mitów tkała ona wraz ze swymi służkami chmury w swym Morskim Dworze - Fensalier. Znała przeznaczenie, a jednak nie mogła go odwrócić - tak stało się w przypadku Baldura, gdy prosząc każde stworzenie o nieczynienie krzywdy swemu synowi zapomniała o jemiole. Frigg miała zapłakać dwa razy w historii świata: pierwszy raz - gdy zginął Baldur, drugi gdy nastanie koniec świata i zginie Odyn.

Frigg è una divinità femminile della mitologia norrena, celeste sposa di Odino, Frigg è anche chiamata "signora del cielo", appellativo degno della compagna del più importante degli Asi. Condivide con Odino il seggio di Hlindskialf e ha a sua disposizione una splendida dimora a Fensalir, una delle regioni di Ásgarðr.
