Fraction
In common usage a fraction is any part of a unit.Fraction may also mean:Fraction (mathematics), a quotient of numbers, e.g. "¾"; or, more generally, an element of a quotient fieldFraction (chemistry), a quantity of a substance collected by the separation process known as fractionationFraction (religion), the ceremonial act of breaking the bread during Christian CommunionFraction (politics), a parliamentary partyFraction (comic), a short-lived comic about the theft of a powersuitFractional (ownership), a reference to property timeshareIn Human Resources, fraction can refer to the percentage of full-time a part-time employee works. So, for example, if an employee works 50% of the usual hours, their fraction is 50%. Positions which are filled by multiple employees at once can also be expressed by fractions > 100%. For example, if a position is budgeted as 150%, that means one 100 mployee and one 50 mployee can fill it at a time, or three 50 mployees. In this sense, fraction is in units of full-time equivalent employees.

Frazione geografica
In un comune italiano, la frazione geografica è costituita da un' "area del territorio comunale comprendente, di norma, un centro abitato, nonché nuclei abitati e case sparse gravitanti sul centro".Tale gravitazione sussiste quando gli abitanti dei nuclei e delle case sparse sono attratti dal centro, cioè sogliono concorrervi per ragioni di approvvigionamento, culto, istruzione, lavoro, affari e simili.La frazione geografica ha una sua propria individuazione derivante dai fenomeni di aggregazione e di gravitazione sociale che in essa si realizzano.
