Futa Tooro
Futa Tooro (formerly known as Mussukeba Sane) refers to the region on the Senegal River in what is now northern Senegal and southern Mauritania. The region converted to Islam in the early eighteenth century, and was the starting point for the jihads of Toucouleur conqueror al-Hajj Umar Tall and anti-colonial rebel al-Hajj Mahmadu Lamine. The great modern Senegalese musician and worldbeat star Baaba Maal comes from the town of Podor in the Futa Tooro.

Le Fouta-Toro (parfois Fuuta Tooro) est une région du nord du  Sénégal bordant la rive gauche du fleuve Sénégal entre Dagana et Bakel. Les Habitants du Fouta-toro sont appeler les Foutankobé, Foutanké au singulier.

Fouta Toro
Der Fouta Toro (andere Schreibweise Fouta Tooro und Futa Toro; früher auch als Mussukeba Sane bekannt) ist das Land hauptsächlich auf der linken, der südlichen Seite des Unterlauf des Flusses Senegal. Das Gebiet erstreckt sich etwa von Bakel bis nach Dagana kurz vor Richard Toll.
