Flea

Flea is the common name for any of the small wingless insects of the order Siphonaptera (some authorities use the name Aphaniptera because it is older, but names above family rank need not follow the ICZN rules of priority, so most taxonomists use the more familiar name). Fleas are external parasites, living by hematophagy off the blood of mammals and birds. Genetic and morphological evidence indicates that they are descendants of the Scorpionfly family Boreidae, which are also flightless; accordingly it is possible that they will eventually be reclassified as a suborder within the Mecoptera. In the past, however, it was most commonly supposed that fleas had evolved from the flies (Diptera), based on similarities of the larvae. In any case, all these groups seem to represent a clade of closely related insect lineages, for which the names Mecopteroidea and Antliophora have been proposed.

Michael Peter Balzary, né le à Melbourne, en Australie, plus connu sous le nom de scène Flea (signifiant puce), est un bassiste, trompettiste et acteur australo-américain. Il est l'un des membres fondateurs des Red Hot Chili Peppers, avec le chanteur Anthony Kiedis. Il est surnommé Flea (puce en anglais) à cause de sa petite taille et de sa façon assez sautillante d'occuper l'espace d'une scène.

L' des siphonaptères (Siphonaptera, du latin sipho « tube ») anciennement dénommés aphaniptères (Aphaniptera) sont des insectes ptérygotes holométabole, caractérisé par l'existence d'une trompe. Les puces sont des petits insectes ectoparasites. Elles infectent les mammifères (dont l'Homme) et quelques oiseaux, et vivent du sang de leurs porteurs. Près de 2 500 espèces sont décrites à ce jour, réparties en 239 genres et 15 à 16 familles selon les auteurs et 5 super familles.

Flöhe bilden die Ordnung Siphonaptera in der Klasse der Insekten und gehören dort zu den Holometabolen Insekten. Von den etwa 2400 Arten der Flöhe sind etwa 70 Arten in Mitteleuropa nachgewiesen. Die Tiere erreichen eine Länge von 1,5 bis 4,5 Millimetern, die größte Art ist der Maulwurfsfloh (Hystrichopsylla talpae), der auf dem Europäischen Maulwurf (Talpa europaea) parasitiert.

Michael Balzary (ur. 16 października 1962 w Melbourne, Australia), znany również jako Flea (ang. pchła) – basista i współzałożyciel rockowo-funkowego zespołu Red Hot Chili Peppers.W 1967 rodzina Balzary wyjechała do USA i zamieszkała w Nowym Jorku. Po rozwodzie rodziców w 1972, wychowująca go samotnie matka przeprowadziła się z nim do Los Angeles. Flea rozpoczął swoją przygodę z muzyką w szkole średniej. Grywał na trąbce w szkolnym zespole, został nawet przyjęty do Juilliard School of Music. Flea nie przejawiał z początku zainteresowań rock and rollem i zamierzał zostać muzykiem jazzowym, podobnie jak jego ojciec. Zmienił zdanie, zapoznawszy się dzięki Hillelowi Slovakowi (późniejszemu gitarzyście Red Hot Chili Peppers) z twórczością takich zespołów jak KISS oraz Led Zeppelin. Hillel Slovak wprowadził również Michaela w tajniki gry na gitarze basowej, będąc jego pierwszym nauczycielem gry na tym instrumencie.

Pchły (Siphonaptera, Aphaniptera) - owady zaliczane do podgromady owadów uskrzydlonych. Są wtórnie bezskrzydłe. Zewnętrzne pasożyty kręgowców. Pchły posiadają silnie rozwinięte odnóża, umożliwiające im długie skoki. Narządy gębowe pchły są typu kłująco-ssącego, całe ciało pokrywa twardy oskórek ze szczecinkami lub ząbkami skierowanymi do tyłu. Znanych jest około 1500 gatunków pcheł.

Spesso è considerato uno dei bassisti più virtuosi della scena rock (specialmente per la sua tecnica dello slap nei primi cinque lavori del gruppo). Sporadicamente ha anche lavorato come attore, in piccoli ruoli. Il soprannome "Flea" (che in inglese significa "pulce") gli venne dato ai tempi del liceo, quando era preso in giro da parte dei compagni, per la sua abitudine di trovarsi sempre in mezzo alle discussioni.
