Flanders is the country of the Flemings and, since several decades ago is also a community and a region in Belgium. Geographically and historically, Flanders also covers parts of France and The Netherlands but may also refer to:

• County of Flanders, an historical county of the Low Countries, which included part of the north of modern-day France and the extreme south-west of the modern Netherlands
• Two provinces of modern-day Belgium:
  • East Flanders, a province of Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium
  • West Flanders, the westernmost province of the Flemish Region, also named Flanders, in Belgium
• Flemish Community, one of the three Communities of Belgium
• Flemish Region, one of the three Regions of Belgium
• French Flanders, the northern département of Nord and part of the region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais
• Zeelandic Flanders in The Netherlands
• Flanders Fields, the battlefields of World War I in northern France and north-western Belgium

Le terme Flandre et son adjectif flamand(e) possèdent des composantes géographiques, historiques, linguistiques (flamand), culturelles (et identitaires). Ils désignent donc, suivant le contexte, des réalités connexes mais distinctes.

Flandres (o termo se traduz como Vlaanderen em neerlandês, Flandre(s) em francês e Flandern em alemão) é toda a região norte da Bélgica, enquanto a região sul é chamada de Valônia (Wallonië em neerlandês). Nesta parte do país é utilizado o flamengo como língua, uma variante do neerlandês. Seus habitantes são designados de "flamengos".
