Final Fantasy X

is a console role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix), and the tenth installment in the Final Fantasy video game series; it was released in 2001, and is the first numbered Final Fantasy game for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console. It was once among the top twenty best-selling console games of all time, peaking at second best for the PlayStation 2 and was also voted by the readers of the Japanese video game magazine Famitsu to be the greatest video game of all-time. Set in the fantasy world of Spira, the game's story centers around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging force known as "Sin".

Final Fantasy X (jap. X, Fainaru Fantaji Ten) ist ein Konsolenrollenspiel, das von Square Co., Ltd. entwickelt und veröffentlicht wurde. Es ist der zehnte Teil der „Final Fantasy“-Reihe und das erste Spiel der Serie, das für die Sony PlayStation 2 erschienen ist. „Final Fantasy X“ erschien 2001 in Japan und verkaufte sich weltweit 7,95 Millionen mal. Das Spiel gewann 2002 in Japan sowohl den PlayStation Grand Prix als auch Sonys Doppelplatin PlayStation Award (vergeben für 2 Mio. bis 3 Mio. in Japan verkaufte Einheiten im Zeitraum Mai 2001 bis Mai 2002) . jest to pierwsza część sagi, która została wydana na Play Station 2 przez firmę Square (teraz jest to Square-Enix). Obecnie posiada ona status "Platinum". Gra charakteryzuje się niesamowitą, jak na tamte lata (2001-2002) grafiką, a nawet teraz przebija ona niektóre gry. Oczywiście jak na serię Final Fantasy przystało posiada też niesamowitą fabułę. Zaczynamy grę w Zanarkand, niesamowitym, super-nowoczesnym mieście. Kierujemy młodzieńcem o imieniu Tidus (możemy go nazwać inaczej), wschodzącą gwiazdą Blitzballu (jest to gra w rodzaju piłki ręcznej, lecz zawodnicy grają w wielkim zbiorniku wody). Podczas finałowego meczu, gdy nasz bohater jest bliski strzelenia gola, miasto zostaje zniszczone przez niesamowitego stwora zwanego Sin (ang. grzech). Tidus jednak jako jedyny zostaje uratowany, a to dzięki przyjacielowi jego ojca, Auronowi. Po jakimś czasie okazuję się że przeniósł się o 1000 lat w przyszłość, gdzie wszystko się zmieniło. Jedyne co jest wspólne to Blitzball i Sin - istota, którą 10 lat temu pokonał High Summoner Braska wraz z jego Strażnikami - Jecht'em (ojciec Tidusa) i Aurona. Po każdym zabiciu Sina następuje Calm (ang. spokój) jednak po jakimś czasie Sin odradza się. Głównym celem gracza jest pokonanie Sina, jednak nie tylko na tym opiera się fabuła gry. Najważniejsi są bohaterowie i ich uczucia, czyny i życie prywatne.

Final Fantasy X è il decimo titolo della saga di videogiochi di ruolo Final Fantasy, il primo della serie ad essere approdato su PlayStation 2. Dal punto di vista tecnico questo capitolo segna il passaggio definitivo alla grafica interamente tridimensionale, resa possibile dalle capacità tecniche della PS2. Final Fantasy X è anche il primo titolo della serie a introdurre il doppiaggio sonoro e il primo ad avere un diretto sequel, Final Fantasy X-2. Final Fantasy X era stato inizialmente progettato con l'intento di fornire elementi di gioco online (scartati prima dell'uscita del gioco) ma non era mai stato pensato per essere giocabile soltanto in modalità online.
