Fiji

Fiji (; ), officially the Republic of the Fiji Islands, is an island nation in the South Pacific Ocean east of Vanuatu, west of Tonga and south of Tuvalu. The country occupies an archipelago of about 322 islands, of which 106 are permanently inhabited, and 522 islets. The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the population.

Fidschi (engl.: Fiji Islands) ist ein  Inselstaat im Südpazifik nördlich von Neuseeland und östlich von Australien. Fidschi ist seit 1970 unabhängig und seit 1987 eine Republik mit der Hauptstadt Suva auf der Insel Viti Levu.Am 5. Dezember 2006 hat das Militär die Macht in dem Land übernommen und Premierminister Laisenia Qarase unter Hausarrest gestellt. Am 4. Januar 2007 gab das Militär die Macht wieder an Präsident Ratu Josefa Iloilo zurück.
