Field strength
In physics, the field strength of a field is the magnitude of its vector value. In theoretical physics, the field strength is another name for the curvature form. For the electromagnetic field, the curvature form is an antisymmetric matrix whose elements are the electric field and magnetic field: the electromagnetic tensor.

field strength
The magnitude of an electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic field at a given point. (188 ) Note: The field strength of an electromagnetic wave is usually expressed as the rms value of the electric field, in volts per meter. The field strength of a magnetic field is usually expressed in ampere-turns per meter or in oersteds. Synonym radio field intensity.
