Fedora (hat)

For other uses, please see the Fedora (disambiguation) page The fedora is a soft felt hat that is creased lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides. It is said to be invented in the mid-1910s. However, the term was in use for the hat as early as 1891, and it was first resembled late in the 18th century as an upper class clothing accessory. Any hat that resembles the soft felt version is also usually called a fedora, including straw and twill ones. Similar hats with a C-crown (with an indentation for the head in the top of the crown) are occasionally called fedoras. It is usually worn by men, but ladies' versions can also be found. On some fedoras, small feathers are inserted in the band wrapped around the crown for flair.

Un Borsalino, est une sorte de chapeau en feutre mou. Par abus de langage, il se désigne aussi simplement sous le terme de feutre. Borsalino est une "marque de chapeaux" qui comprend de nombreux modèles pour femmes et pour hommes. Fedora – rodzaj kapelusza z rondem, zwykle filcowego, z wklęsłą fałdą wzdłuż główki, powstały w pierwszym dziesięcioleciu XX wieku. Nazwa pochodzi od imienia głównej bohaterki sztuki francuskiego dramaturga Victoriena Sardou z 1882 pt. Fédora, księżniczki Fedory Romazowej, która nosi podobne nakrycie głowy.

Обычно носится мужчинами, но существуют варианты шляп и для женщин.Фетровая шляпа была популярна на западе в первой половине XX века. В это время она была практически непременным атрибутом костюма в городских индустриализированных областях. Такая шляпа наиболее сильно ассоциируется с гангстерами, частными детективами и прочими «крутыми парнями», во многом благодаря штампу голливудских фильмов 1940-х годов. Примерно на рубеже 1950-х и 1960-х фетровая шляпа утратила популярность.
