Fear

Fear is an emotional response to impending danger, that is tied to anxiety. Behavioral theorists, like Watson and Ekman, have both suggested that fear, along with a few other basic emotions (e.g., joy and anger), is a trait innate to most higher functioning organisms. Fear is a survival mechanism, and usually occurs in response to a specific negative stimulus.

Furcht ist eine Bezeichnung für unangenehme Emotionen auf eine konkrete Gefahr oder Bedrohung. Eine plötzlich einsetzende Furcht wird auch als Schrecken bezeichnet - man fürchtet sich anhaltend, erschrickt aber jäh.Die Furcht grenzt sich von der Angst dadurch ab, dass sich Furcht meist auf eine reale Bedrohung bezieht. Angst ist dagegen meist ein ungerichteter Gefühlszustand.Begriffe wie Ehrfurcht oder Gottesfurcht betonen die Achtung (den Respekt) vor einer bestimmten Übermacht. Im Gegensatz zur diffusen Angst ist die Furcht auf etwas Bestimmtes gerichtet und - im Gegensatz zur Angst bei phobischen Störungen - rational begründbar und angebracht und wird deshalb auch als Realangst bezeichnet.

Fear - amerykański zespół punkrockowy. Został utworzony w 1977 roku w Los Angeles przez wokalistę/gitarzystę Lee Vinga i basistę Derfa Scratcha. Wktótce dołączyli do nich: perkusista Spit Stix i gitarzysta Philo Cramer (zastępując krótko grających: Johna Backbeata i Burta Gooda). W niedługim czasie nabrali rozgłosu i podpisali umowę z firmą Slash Records. W 1980 zespół został zaprezentowany w filmie dokumentującym początki sceny punkrockowej w Los Angeles: The Decline of Western Civilization (reż. Penelope Spheeris 1981).

Strach - silna przykra emocja o charakterze wrodzonym, pojawiająca się w sytuacjach realnego zagrożenia. Wrodzoną reakcją organizmu w takiej sytuacji jest odruch ucieczki. Psychopatologia odróżnia strach od lęku, którego obiekt jest zawsze irracjonalny.Strach nie wiąże się z odczuwaniem sytuacji jako niebezpiecznej, ale źródło tej reakcji stanowi aktualny, określony stan organizmu. Szybko wygasa jeżeli po wystąpieniu bodźca, który go wywołał, nie ma przykrych skutków jego działania. Wtedy reakcja zanika, a organizm przystosowuje się do zaistniałej sytuacji. W sytuacji, kiedy szkodliwe działanie bodźca trwa, przeżycie strachu rozwija się i nasila.
