Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit is the temperature scale proposed in 1724 by, and named after, the German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686–1736). Within this scale, the freezing of water into ice is defined at 32 degrees, while the boiling point of water is defined to be 212 degrees. The Fahrenheit scale was replaced by the Celsius scale in most countries during the mid to late 20th century, though Canada retains it as a supplementary scale that can be used alongside Celsius. Fahrenheit remains the official scale of the United States, Cayman Islands and Belize. The Rankine temperature scale was based upon the Fahrenheit temperature scale, with its zero representing absolute zero instead.

Fahrenheit
Le degré Fahrenheit (°F ou ℉, caractère Unicode U+2109) est une unité de mesure de la température, qui doit son nom au physicien allemand Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, qui la proposa en 1724. Dans l'échelle de température de Fahrenheit, le point de solidification de l'eau est de 32 degrés, et son point d'ébullition est de 212 degrés. On en déduit qu'une différence d'un degré Fahrenheit équivaut à une différence de 5/9 de kelvin ou de degré Celsius.

Skala Fahrenheita
Skala Fahrenheita to jedna ze skal pomiaru temperatury (skala termometryczna) stosowana w niektórych krajach anglosaskich.
Skalę w 1715 zaproponował Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. Na punkt zerowy skali wyznaczył on najniższą temperaturę zimy 1708/1709 zanotowaną w Gdańsku (jego rodzinnym mieście). 100° miało być temperaturą jego ciała. Na skutek błędów (miał wtedy stan podgorączkowy) skala się "przesunęła" i 100°F oznaczało 37,8°C.
