The Progress Party (
Bokmål: Fremskrittspartiet,
Nynorsk: Framstegspartiet, Norwegian abbreviation: FrP) is the second largest political party in
Norway as of the
2005 parliamentary elections. The FrP defines itself a
liberal conservative party. The Party was founded on principle of reducing what it considered an excessive control the Norwegian society by the state. Progress Party believes that in many areas people themselves or private organizations can handle better than the state.
