FRIULIAN

Friulian ( or affectionately marilenghe in Friulian, friulano in Italian) is a Romance language belonging to the Rhaetian family, spoken in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy. Friulian has around 600,000 speakers, the vast majority of whom also speak Italian. It is sometimes called Eastern Ladin, since it comes from the same roots as the Ladin Language although over the centuries it has diverged under the influence of surrounding languages including German, Italian, Venetian, and Slovenian. Documents in Friulian are attested from the 11th century, and poetry and literature dating as far back as 1300. By the 20th century, there was a revival of interest in the language, which has continued to this day.

Le frioulan (furlan en frioulan et friulano en italien) est la langue la plus répandue du groupe rhéto-roman des langues romanes, et la plus orientale. Elle est parlé dans la région italienne du Frioul-Vénétie julienne (région d'Udine, Pordenone et Gorizia), par environ cinq cent mille locuteurs. Elle y est utilisée dans la signalisation routière bilingue (frioulan/italien). C'est la deuxième langue minoritaire en Italie. Elle est également parlée dans d'autres régions italiennes et dans le monde, par les émigrés du XX^e siècle et leurs descendants (Slovénie, Croatie, Roumanie, Suisse, France, Luxembourg, Belgique, Allemagne, Australie, Canada, États-Unis, Venezuela, Brésil, Uruguay, Argentine). Das Furlanische oder Friaulische oder auch Friulische (furlanisch: furlan, italienisch: friulano) ist eine romanische Sprache. Furlanisch wird im Friaul in Italien, in der Gegend von Udine, an der Grenze zu Slowenien von etwa 600.000 Menschen gesprochen und ist dort als regionale Behörden- und Schulsprache anerkannt. Es wird teilweise als Literatursprache genutzt.

Język friulski a. friulański a. furlański - jeden z języków retoromańskich, największy pod względem liczby mówiących. Posługuje się nim ponad pół miliona osób, przede wszystkim Friulowie, ale również niektórzy Włosi i Słoweńcy mieszkający w regionie autonomicznym Friuli-Wenecja Julijska (północno-wschodnie Włochy). Dawniej obszar języka furlańskiego obejmował  Triest i część Istrii, lecz później język furlański został wyparty z wybrzeża Morza Adriatyckiego przez język włoski oraz język słoweński i obecnie jego zasięg ogranicza się do północnej części regionu. W 1999 roku został oficjalnie uznany przez państwo włoskie.

La lingua friulana (che in friulano viene definita o, più informalmente, marilenghe) appartiene al gruppo orientale delle lingue neolatine, e in particolare viene inserito nel gruppo delle Lingue retoromanze o Ladine, con le quali ha diverse analogie, ma se ne differenzia anche per l'influsso avuto dalle lingue e dalle culture circostanti (tedesco, sloveno).
