Note: for the full results of all FA Cup finals, see FA Cup Final The Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the FA Cup, is a knockout cup competition in English football, run by and named after The Football Association.The FA Cup is the oldest football competition in the world, commencing in 1871-72. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other there is the possibility for "giant-killers" from the lower divisions to eliminate top clubs from the tournament, though lower division teams rarely reach the final. A record 731 teams were accepted into the FA Cup in 2007-2008. In comparison, the League Cup can involve only the 72 members of The Football League (which organises the competition) and the 20 teams in the Premier League. The results of the Football League War Cup are deemed to be separate from both competitions.

Der Football Association Challenge Cup, kurz auch FA Cup genannt, ist der größte rundenbasierte Pokalwettbewerb im englischen Fußball. Er wird neben der Premier League von der Football Association durchgeführt und ist auch nach ihr benannt. Da am Wettbewerb Mannschaften aller Ligen teilnehmen, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass Mannschaften aus den unteren Ligen die Top-Mannschaften aus dem Wettbewerb werfen. Er ist der älteste Fußball-Wettbewerb der Welt, wird aber heute in gleichem oder ähnlichem Modus in vielen Ländern durchgeführt, so wird in Deutschland z.B. der DFB-Pokal ausgespielt.

Puchar Anglii (F.A. Cup) - najstarsze narodowe rozgrywki piłkarskie na świecie. Organizatorem jest Angielska Federacja Piłkarska (The Football Association). W rozgrywkach biorą udział wszystkie angielskie kluby piłkarskie zrzeszone w związku.Pierwszy finał tych rozgrywek odbył się 16 marca 1872 r. pomiędzy drużynami The Wanderers Londyn i Royal Engineers Chatham, w obecności dwóch tysięcy widzów zgromadzonych na Kennington Oval. Wygrali ci pierwsi, a jedynego gola zdobył Morton Peto Betts.

La Football Association Challenge Cup, abbreviata in FA Cup (in italiano detta anche Coppa d'Inghilterra) è la coppa nazionale di calcio inglese.La competizione fu istituita nel 1872 ed è la più antica manifestazione tuttora regolarmente disputata. Inizialmente intesa per club dilettantistici, fu aperta dieci anni dopo anche al professionismo. Il primo club professionistico a vincere la competizione fu il Blackburn Olympic nel 1883.Con l'istituzione della Lega Calcio nel 1888 iniziò anche il campionato e particolare prestigio, fin da subito, acquisì il double, ovvero la conquista sia del titolo inglese che della Coppa d'Inghilterra. Il primo double fu a opera del Preston che lo conseguì nel 1889. A tutt'oggi il double campionato / FA Cup è stato realizzato in 10 occasioni.
