Fans (also known as Faans or Fans!) is a webcomic written by T Campbell, concerning the exploits of a group of science fiction and fantasy fans who become entangled in a series of adventures involving mad scientists, aliens, government conspiracies, time travel, and other exotic adversaries. The comic commenced life as a webcomic in 2000 and concluded in 2005.

Ein Fan [] (englisch fan [], von fanatic = Fanatiker) ist ein begeisterter Anhänger einer Person, einer Gruppe von Personen oder einer Sache.Fans finden sich oft in Fanklubs zusammen. Sofern sich die begeisterte Anhängerschaft der Fans auf Personen bezieht, werden letztere als Stars bezeichnet. Die begeisterte Anhängerschaft äußert sich meist in Ritualen der Verehrung der betreffenden Person, Gruppe oder Sache. Für diese Verehrung, die die Fans betreiben, hat sich umgangssprachlich der Begriff Kult eingebürgert. Er beruht häufig auch auf Mythen, die sich um den Gegenstand der Verehrung ranken.

FANS è l'acronimo dell'espressione farmaci anti-infiammatori non steroidei e individua una classe di farmaci dall'effetto anti-infiammatorio, analgesico ed antipiretico.Tali farmaci sono detti "analgesici periferici" e agiscono sul metabolismo dell'acido arachidonico (acido eicosapentenoico), precursore di molecole coinvolte nel processo infiammatorio quali prostaglandine (PG), prostacicline (PC), trombossani (TX) e leucotrieni (LT). I FANS bloccano in maniera più o meno reversibile un enzima, la cicloossigenasi, esistente in due forme: COX-1, prodotto costitutivamente e ubiquitario in condizioni fisiologiche e COX-2, sintetizzato in maniera inducibile e quasi assente se non in attiva fase infiammatoria. Gli anti-infiammatori hanno una selettività differente verso COX-1 e COX-2; tale specificità è alla base per la ricerca farmacologica e per la comprensione e la risoluzione dei problemi legati alla tossicità di alcuni di questi farmaci. Un aspetto piuttosto comune è una certa lesività verso mucose, specialmente gastrointestinale.

Een fan is een enthousiast bewonderaar of liefhebber van een publiek persoon, muziekgroep, schrijver, kunstenaar, televisieserie, film, et cetera. Het woord is een afkorting van het Engelse ‘fanatic’ en werd aan het eind van de negentiende eeuw in Amerika geïntroduceerd als een benaming voor een gedreven aanhanger van een honkbalteam. Hoewel tegenwoordig de term ‘fan’ in deze context nog wel in zwang is (bijvoorbeeld PSV-fan), wordt voor fanatieke sportliefhebbers vaker het synoniem supporter gebruikt.
