FAHRENHEIT TEMPERATURE SCALE

Fahrenheit is a temperature scale named after the German-Dutch physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686–1736), who proposed it in 1724.In this scale, the melting point of water is 32 degrees Fahrenheit (written “32 °F”), and the boiling point is 212 degrees, placing the boiling and melting points of water exactly 180 degrees apart. On the Celsius scale, the melting and boiling points of water are exactly 100 degrees apart, thus the unit of this scale, a degree Fahrenheit, is of a degree Celsius. The Fahrenheit scale coincides with the Celsius scale at -40 °F, which is the same temperature as -40 °C.

Le degré Fahrenheit (°F ou ℉, caractère Unicode U+2109) est une unité de mesure de la température, qui doit son nom au physicien allemand Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, qui la proposa en 1724. Dans l'échelle de température de Fahrenheit, le point de solidification de l'eau est de 32 degrés, et son point d'ébullition est de 212 degrés. On en déduit qu'une différence d'un degré Fahrenheit équivaut à une différence de 5/9 de kelvin ou de degré Celsius.

Skala Fahrenheita to jedna ze skal pomiaru temperatury (skala termometryczna) stosowana w niektórych krajach anglosaskich.Skalę w 1715 zaproponował Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. Na punkt zerowy skali wyznaczył on najniższą temperaturę zimy 1708/1709 zanotowaną w Gdańsku (jego rodzinnym mieście). 100° miało być temperaturą jego ciała. Na skutek błędów (miał wtedy  stan podgorączkowy) skala się "przesunęła" i 100°F oznaczało 37,8°C.

È tutt'ora in uso negli Stati Uniti d'America e in Giamaica.In questa scala, il punto di congelamento dell'acqua è di 32 gradi Fahrenheit, mentre il punto di ebollizione si trova a 212 gradi, suddividendo così i due estremi in 180 gradi. L'unità di questa scala, il grado Fahrenheit (°F) è 5/9 di un kelvin (e anche di un grado Celsius). Una temperatura di -40°F è uguale a -40°C.
