Formula One, also known as Formula 1 or F1 and referred to officially as the FIA Formula One World Championship, is the highest class of single seater auto racing sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The "formula", designated in the name, refers to a set of rules with which all participants' cars must comply. The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix (from French, originally meaning grand prizes), held on purpose-built circuits and public roads. The results of each race are combined with a points system to determine two annual World Championships, one for the drivers and one for the constructors. The racing drivers, constructor teams, track officials, organizers, and circuits are required to be holders of valid Super Licences, the highest class of racing licence issued by the FIA.

F1 als Abkürzung steht für:

Die Formel 1 (kurz auch F1) ist eine Zusammenfassung der Regeln, Richtlinien und Bedingungen, in deren Rahmen die Formel-1-Weltmeisterschaft (offiziell FIA Formula One World Championship), eine vom Automobil-Dachverband Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) festgelegte Formelserie, ausgetragen wird. Die Formel-1-Weltmeisterschaft ist die höchstrangige von der FIA veranstaltete Rennserie des Formelsports. Sie wird als Königsklasse des Automobilsports bezeichnet, da sie den Anspruch erhebt, die höchsten technischen, fahrerischen, aber auch finanziellen Anforderungen aller Rennserien an Fahrer und Konstrukteure zu stellen.

La Formule 1, communément abrégée en F1, est une discipline de sport automobile considérée comme la catégorie reine de ce sport. Elle a pris au fil des ans une dimension mondiale et, avec les Jeux olympiques et la Coupe du monde de football, est l'un des événements sportifs les plus médiatisés.

F1 har flera betydelser:

• en funktionstangent på datortangentbord som ofta betyder "Hjälp".

Formel 1, förkortas F1, är tävlingar på asfalterade banor med ensitsiga formelbilar och i övrigt konstruerade enligt FIA:s bestämmelser. Samtliga tävlingar i sporten ingår numera i världsmästerskapet i Formel 1, vars officiella namn är FIA Formula One World Championship.

Formuła 1 to cykl najbardziej prestiżowych wyścigów samochodowych na świecie, znanych również jako wyścigi Grand Prix, a jednocześnie klasa biorących w nich udział jednomiejscowych samochodów wyścigowych o otwartym nadwoziu. Sport zapoczątkowany został w Europie, ale obecnie jest sportem międzynarodowym, wyścigi są lub były organizowane w Europie, obu Amerykach, Afryce, Azji i Australii. W trakcie sezonu odbywają się wyścigi (w sezonie 2006 odbyło się 18 eliminacji), znane jako grand prix, na wydzielonych torach ulicznych lub na specjalnie stworzonych do tego celu torach nie-ulicznych.
