Färöer

The Faroe Islands or Faeroe Islands or simply Faroes or Faeroes (, meaning "Sheep Islands", , ) are a group of islands in Northern Europe, between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, roughly equidistant between Iceland, Scotland, and Norway. They have been an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1948, making it a member of the Rigsfællesskab. The Faroese have, over the years, taken control of most matters except defence (though they have a native coast guard), foreign affairs and the legal system. These three areas are the responsibility of Denmark.

Die Färöer [] – umgangssprachlich auch „Färöer-Inseln“ – (färöisch: Føroyar [], dänisch: Færøerne [] (vermutlich: „Schafsinseln“) sind eine im Mittelalter entdeckte und besiedelte  Inselgruppe im Nordatlantik zwischen den Britischen Inseln, Norwegen und Island. Mit Ausnahme von Lítla Dímun sind alle 18 Inseln permanent bewohnt.

Wyspy Owcze (farer. Føroyar, duń. Færøerne) – archipelag wysp wulkanicznych (o powierzchni 1399 km²) na Morzu Norweskim, mniej więcej w połowie drogi między Norwegią a Islandią. Stanowią terytorium zależne Danii.Ośrodkiem administracyjnym jest Thorshavn (farer. Tórshavn). Głównymi miastami Wysp Owczych są: Klaksvík, Hoyvík, Argir. Żyje tam około 49 000 mieszkańców, a gęstość zaludnienia wynosi 35 osób/km². Językami urzędowymi są farerski i duński. Mieszkańcy wyznają w większości luteranizm.

Le Isole Fær Øer (far. Føroyar, dan. Færøerne) sono un arcipelago che si trova nel nord dell'Oceano Atlantico tra la Scozia, Norvegia e Islanda.Sono diventate una regione autonoma del Regno di Danimarca dal 1948 e, nel corso degli anni, hanno ottenuto il controllo su quasi tutte le questioni di politica interna, tranne la difesa (con l'eccezione di una piccola forza di polizia e guardia costiera, non hanno una forza militare organizzata, che rimane responsabilità della Danimarca) e gli affari esteri.

De Faeröer (Faeröers: Føroyar; Deens: Færøerne; Nederlands ook: Schapeneilanden; spreek uit: fêêr-eu-er) zijn een West-Europese eilandengroep, gelegen in het midden van de driehoek Schotland-Noorwegen-IJsland en behorend tot het koninkrijk Denemarken. De naam Faeröer betekent 'schapeneilanden'. Er wonen mensen, van wie veel in de hoofdstad Tórshavn. De plaatselijke Noord-Germaanse dialecten, verwant aan het IJslands, vormen een aparte taal, gestandaardiseerd in het Faeröers.
