Ezekiel (; , Y'ḥez'qel, ), Arabic:حزقيال Hazqiyal, 'God will strengthen' (from , ḥazaq, , literally 'to fasten upon,' figuratively 'strong,' and , el, , literally 'God', and so figuratively 'The Almighty') is the central protagonist of the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible.

Das Buch Ezechiel (Hesekiel) ist eine im Zeitraum von ca. 600-560 v. Chr. in Babylonien entstandene Schrift des Alten Testaments der Bibel, die seit dem Mittelalter in 48 Kapitel unterteilt wird. Es schildert die Visionen und symbolischen Handlungen des Propheten Ezechiel, der zur ersten Gruppe der im Rahmen des Babylonischen Exils verschleppten Israeliten gehörte. Ezechiel war ein israelitischer Priester.

Ezechiel (auch Hesekiel, hebr.  Yeḥezķel, Jechezkel) war ein jüdischer Prophet des Alten Testamentes und lebte um das 6. Jahrhundert v. Chr..

Ézéchiel (יְחֶזְקֵאל ) est un prophète du Tanakh et de l'Ancien Testament (env. ). On lui attribue le livre homonyme, le troisième dans l'ordre canonique des "Grands Prophètes" (Isaïe, Jérémie, Ézéchiel), par opposition aux "Petits Prophètes" (Amos, Joël, Nahum, Habacuc, Sophonie, Jonas, Michée, Osée etc.).

Hesekiel (Hebr. יחזקאל ibl. Hezekiel el. Ezekiel) är en av de tre stora profeterna i Gamla Testamentet. Han tros ha förts bort till Babylonien 597 f.Kr. (Den babyloniska fångenskapen). Under tiden i fångenskap blev Hesekiel en ansedd profet bland de sina. I äldre tiders almanackor var 10 april tillägnad Hesekiel.
