The European Curling Championships are annual
curling tournaments held in
Europe between various European nations and hosted by the
European Curling Federation. The pean Curling Championships is usually held in early/mid
December. The tournament is a qualifier for the
World Championship; the top eight nations get a team in the Worlds. In
November 1974, a six-nations tournamend was held in
Zürich,
Switzerland where Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and Norway. In
March 1975, it was decided that the
European Curling Championships would be started from
December that year, and the European Curling Championships are hosted by the European Curling Federation. At the semi-annual general meeting in
Gävle in
Sweden in
April 2004, Sweden it was decided to start a new competition from 2005 onwards, the European Mixed Curling Championships.
