Eugene Merle Shoemaker
Eugene Merle Shoemaker (or Gene Shoemaker) (April 28, 1928 – July 18, 1997), American geologist, was one of the founders of the fields of planetary science. Born in Los Angeles, California, he is best known for co-discovering the Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9 with his wife Carolyn Shoemaker and David Levy.

Eugene Shoemaker
Eugene Merle Shoemaker (* 28. April 1928 in Los Angeles, USA; † 18. Juli 1997 bei einem Autounfall in der Nähe von Alice Springs, Australien), auch Gene Shoemaker, war ein US-amerikanischer Geologe, Impaktforscher und Astronom. Bekannt wurde er als Mit-Entdecker und Namensgeber des Kometen Shoemaker-Levy 9 (mit seiner Frau Carolyn Shoemaker und David H. Levy).

Eugene M. Shoemaker
Eugene Merle Shoemaker, född 28 april 1928, död 18 juli 1997, var astronom. Han är mest känd för att ha varit med och upptäckt kometen Shoemaker-Levy 9 som sommaren 1994 kraschade in i Jupiter. Han fram till sin död gift med Carolyn S. Shoemaker.

Eugene Shoemaker
Eugene Merle Shoemaker, Gene Shoemaker (urodzony 28 kwietnia 1928 – zmarł 18 lipca 1997), amerykański astronom i geolog.
Najbardziej znany z odkrycia 24 marca 1993 roku wraz z żoną Carolyn i Davidem Levy'm, komety nazwanej później Shoemaker-Levy 9.
18 lipca 1997 roku zginął w wypadku drogowym w Australii podczas wyprawy w poszukiwaniu kraterów po upadkach meteorytów. W roku 1998 sonda Lunar Prospector zabrała na Księżyc kilkadziesiąt gramów prochów Eugene'a Shoemakera.
