Ethiopia (Ge'ez: ኢትዮጵያ ), officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is a landlocked country located in the Horn of Africa. It is the second-most populous nation in Africa, with over 82 million inhabitants, and the tenth largest by area, occupying 1,100,000 km². Ethiopia is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Djibouti and Somalia to the east, Sudan and South Sudan to the west, and Kenya to the south. With its capital at Addis Ababa, it is also the most populous landlocked nation in the world.

Äthiopien (amharisch ኢትዮጵያ Ityop'ya, griechisch Αἰθιοπία) – zeitweise im Ausland auch als Abessinien bekannt (eigentlich ein kultur-geographischer Begriff, der nur das Hochland bezeichnet) – ist ein Staat im Nord-Osten Afrikas. Er grenzt an Eritrea, den Sudan, Kenia, Somalia und Dschibuti. Nationalfeiertag ist der 28. Mai, Tag der Niederlage des Mengistu-Regimes (1991). Äthiopien ist beim Human Development Index auf Platz 171 von 182.

L'Éthiopie, officiellement la République démocratique fédérale d’Éthiopie (Ge'ez: የኢትዮጵያ ፈደራላዊ ዲሞክራሲያዊ ሪፐብሊክ), est un pays situé dans la Corne de l'Afrique, qui a été privé de son accès à la mer suite à l’indépendance de l’Érythrée en 1993. L’Éthiopie partage des frontières communes avec l’Érythrée, correspondant à sa zone colonisée par l’Italie au nord, le Soudan à l’ouest, le Kenya au sud, Djibouti au nord-est et la Somalie à l’est.

Etiopien (amhariska: ኢትዮጵያ, ʾĪtyōṗṗyā), formellt Demokratiska förbundsrepubliken Etiopien, tidigare Abessinien, är en stat belägen på Afrikas horn i nordöstra Afrika. Angränsande länder är Djibouti, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia och Sudan. Etiopien är ett av världens äldsta länder efter Armenien. Etiopien är också Afrikas tredje folkrikaste land efter Nigeria och Egypten.
