Equidae
Equidae (sometimes known as the horse family) is the taxonomic family of horses and related animals, including the extant horses, donkeys, and zebras, and many other species known only from fossils. All extant species are in the genus Equus. Equidae belongs to the order Perissodactyla, which includes the extant tapirs and rhinoceros, and still more fossils.

Pferde
Die Pferde oder Einhufer (Equus) sind eine Gattung der Säugetiere. Sie werden in eine eigene Familie Equidae gestellt. Zu dieser Gattung gehören die Tiere, die als Pferde, Esel und Zebras bezeichnet werden. Die Abgrenzung der Arten ist bis heute umstritten, insgesamt werden meist sieben Arten unterschieden, von denen die meisten in ihrem Bestand gefährdet sind. Das Hauspferd und der Hausesel, die domestizierten Formen des Wildpferds respektive des Afrikanischen Esels, spielen als Last- und Reittier eine wichtige Rolle und sind weltweit verbreitet.

Equidae
Les équidés (Equidae) forment la famille de mammifères comprenant 3 espèces actuelles: les chevaux, les ânes et les zèbres. Toutes font partie du genre Equus. Ce sont des périssodactyles, donc avec un nombre impair de doigts, en l'occurrence un doigt unique.

Le genre Equus comprends entre autres les espèces et sous-espèces suivantes: les Ânes dont l'ane commun, l'Hémione, le Kiang et l'onagre, le Cheval domestique, le Cheval de Przewalski, les Zèbres dont le Zèbre de Grévy

Hästdjur
Hästdjur (Equidae) är en familj i ordningen uddatåiga hovdjur. Familjen innehåller i dag bara ett enda levande släkte: Equus, men fossil visar på en stor mängd andra utdöda släkten.

Koniowate
Koniowate (Equidae) - jedyna rodzina koniokształtnych (Hippomorpha) z rzędu ssaków nieparzystokopytnych.
Wszystkie koniowate są dużymi zwierzętami o krótkiej sierści, mają grzywę i ogon pokryty całkowicie bądź częściowo długimi włosami; nogi zakończone przekształconym III palcem, osłoniętym kopytem. U samic występuje para sutków położonych na podbrzuszu. Są roślinożerne, żywią się głównie trawą.
Największe osobniki osiągają do 3 m długości ciała, przy wysokości w kłębie do 180 cm. Maksymalna masa ciała sięga 1200 kg (konie rasy shire). Dziko żyjące koniowate osiągają przeciętnie 200-450 kg.
