En Route Air Traffic Control Service

Air traffic control service provided for aircraft on Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flight plans, generally by Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), when these aircraft are operating between departure and destination terminal areas. When equipment capabilities and controller workload permit, certain advisory/assistance services may be provided to Visual Flight Rules (VFR) aircraft. (FAA4) (FAA8)
