Elzas
De Elzas (Middelnederlands: Elzate; Frans: Alsace, Duits: Elsaß of Elsass) is een regio in Frankrijk, gelegen op de linkeroever van de Rijn en in het westen begrensd door Lotharingen. Het is onderverdeeld in de departementen Haut-Rhin en Bas-Rhin. De hoofdstad is Straatsburg.
Alhoewel de enige officiële taal het Frans is, spreekt men in de Elzas ook nog wel het eigen Duitse dialect, het Elzassisch.
