The Elfstedentocht (West Frisian: Alvestêdetocht, English: Eleven cities tour), at almost , is a speed skating match (with 200 contestants) and a leisure skating tour (with 16,000 skaters). It is held in the province of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands, touching each and every city (by history) of the province. It is held, in practice in January or February and not more than once in a year, when the natural ice along the entire course is at least thick; sometimes on consecutive years, other times with gaps that may exceed 20 years. When the ice is suitable the tour is announced, and starts within 48 hours.

Elvastadsloppet (nederländska: Elfstedentocht) är ett 200 kilometer långt skridskolopp i norra Nederländerna som går på kanaler och över sjöar och hålls när isen tillåter det. Loppet hölls första gången 1909 och man har endast lyckats hålla loppet 15 gånger. Det går genom de elva orter i regionen Friesland som har stadsrättigheter, de så kallade "elva frisiska städerna". Starten går i Leeuwarden, Frieslands största stad, och fortsätter sedan söderut via Sneek, IJlst, Sloten till Stavoren där det vänder norrut via Hindeloopen, Workum, Bolsward, Harlingen, Franeker upp till Dokkum för att sedan vända söderut igen och ha målgången åter i Leeuwarden. Sträckan mellan Bartlehiem och Dokkum åks två gånger, en gång i vardera riktning.
