Elefsina (Greek: Ελευσίνα, Ancient/Katharevousa: Eleusis) is a small town about 30 km NW of Athens, seat of administration of the prefecture West Attica. It is best known for having been the site of the Eleusinian Mysteries, one of the major cults of ancient Greece. It was also the birth place of Aeschylus, one of the three great tragedians of antiquity. See also Metanira.

Eleusis (, ) ist ein Ort ca. 30 km nordwestlich von  Athen. Seine Bedeutung erlangte es durch die Mysterien von Eleusis, einen der wichtigen Kulte der griechischen Mythologie. Heute ist die Stadt unter dem Namen Elefsina ein Vorort von Athen mit 25.863 Einwohnern (2001).
