ELECTRA: Monica Germino, violin/electric violin; Tatiana Koleva, percussion/marimba; Michaela Riener, voice/keyboard; Susanna Borsch, recorder/electronicsELECTRA is a group of four internationally renowned performers who have come together in an unusual collaboration to create highly original and critically lauded programs. Working with established composers and discovering new collaborations, ELECTRA combines the latest new music with visual and theatrical elements, as well as working with other disciplines. ELECTRA performs at venues and festivals throughout the world. Highlights include appearances at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Centre, MASS MoCA, the Agora Festival (IRCAM), Varna Summer International Festival, Pontino Festival, Bergen International Festival, and tours throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. In 2007, ELECTRA celebrates the release of its CD/DVD ABLE TO BE, on the Attacca label. ELECTRA's future programs will continue to involve composers from around the world in multimedia projects.

Electra
In Greek mythology, Electra (Greek:Ηλέκτρα) was daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra.Electra was absent from Mycenae when her father, King Agamemnon, returned from the Trojan War to be murdered by Aegisthus, Clytemnestra's lover, and/or by Clytemnestra herself. Aegisthus and Clytemnestra also killed Cassandra, Agamemnon's war prize, a prophet priestess of Troy. Eight years later Electra was brought from Athens with her brother, Orestes. (Odyssey, iii. 306; X. 542).
