Elbow
The human elbow is the region surrounding the elbow-joint—the ginglymus or hinge joint in the middle of the arm. Three bones form the elbow joint: the humerus of the upper arm, and the paired radius and ulna of the forearm.

Ellbogengelenk
Das Ellbogengelenk (lat. Articulatio cubiti, von gr. kybiton für Ellenbogen) ist ein zusammengesetztes Gelenk (Articulatio composita). Es besteht funktionell aus drei Teilgelenken mit einer gemeinsamen Gelenkkapsel, bei denen der Oberarmknochen (Humerus) und die beiden Unterarmknochen Speiche (Radius) und Elle (Ulna) jeweils mit je einem der beiden anderen Knochen in Verbindung tritt. Der Unterarm kann im Ellenbogengelenk gegenüber dem Oberarm gebeugt und gestreckt werden. Darüber hinaus ist das Gelenk funktionell an den Umwendebewegungen der Hand, der Pronation und Supination, beteiligt. Diese werden unter anderem durch eine komplexe Drehbewegung der Speiche ermöglicht.

Coude
- Le coude est un complexe articulaire synovial du membre supérieur humain reliant le bras à l'avant-bras. Il unit ainsi trois os entre eux : Le radius, l'ulna (cubitus) et l'humérus.
- Elle est la réunion de trois articulations :
- huméro-ulnaire
- huméro-radiale
- radio-ulnaire proximale (supérieure)
- Lorsque l'avant-bras est tendu (extension complète), on remarque que le bras et l'avant-bras ne sont pas alignés dans le plan frontal. Les deux parties forment un angle ouvert en dehors, d'environ 170° chez l'homme, 160° chez la femme; c'est ce qu'on appelle le valgus physiologique (on retrouve la même chose pour le genou).

Staw lokciowy
W anatomii człowieka staw łokciowy (łac. articulatio cubiti) jest stawem łączącym ramię z przedramieniem.
Można go zakwalifikować do typu stawu zawiasowo-obrotowego o dwóch osiach ruchu. Jest stawem złożonym z trzech połączeń objętych wspólną torebką stawową. Część ramienno-łokciowa i ramienno-promieniowa stawu łokciowego stanowi funkcjonalnie jedną część. Odbywa się tu zginanie i prostowanie. Połączenie promieniowo-łokciowe, zwane stawem promieniowo-łokciowym bliższym należy do stawów typu obrotowego. Mogą się tu odbywać: nawracanie i odwracanie przy udziale stawu promieniowo-łokciowego dalszego.
