Santo
Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta (September 23, 1917 – February 5, 1984), more widely known as El Santo (the Saint), was a Mexican Luchador enmascarado (Spanish for masked professional wrestler), film actor, and folk icon. El Santo, along with Blue Demon and Mil Máscaras, is one of the most famous and iconic of all Mexican luchadores, and has been referred to as one of "the greatest legends in Mexican sports" His wrestling career spanned nearly five decades, during which he became a folk hero and a symbol of justice for the common man through his appearances in comic books and movies. He is said to have popularized professional wrestling in Mexico just as Rikidozan did in Japan. Guzmán's son followed him into wrestling as El Hijo del Santo, or 'Son of Santo'.

El Santo
El Santo to pseudonim artystyczny Rodolfo Guzmána Huerty (ur. 23 września 1917, zm. 5 lutego 1984) - meksykańskiego aktora i zapaśnika walk lucha libre (hisp.wolna walka). Sławę przyniosła mu postać, której kreowaniu poświęcił całe swoje życie. Rudolfo często nazywany Santo, El Enmascarado de Plata (hisp. "Święty, srebrnomaski człowiek") nigdy nie zdejmował swojej maski publicznie - wg. legend nawet w niej spał. Faktem natomiast jest, że został pochowany w swojej masce.

El Santo
El Santo (Tulancingo, 23 september 1917 - Mexico-stad, 5 februari 1984) wiens werkelijke naam Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta was, was een Mexicaanse worstelaar en acteur. El Santo groeide in de jaren '50 uit tot een iconische volksheld.
El Santo was geboren in de staat Hidalgo, maar een paar jaar na zijn geboorte verhuisde hij naar Mexico-stad. Ergens in de jaren '30 nam hij voor het eerst aan een worstelwedstrijd deel. In 1942 stelde zijn manager Jesús Lomelí en nieuw team samen van in zilver geklede worstelaars, en wilde dat Guzmán daar deel van zou gaan uitmaken. Het was ook Lomelí die de naam El Santo bedacht, wat "de heilige" betekent, en door El Santo verkozen werd boven El Diablo (de Duivel) en El Ángel (de Engel) die ook waren voorgesteld van zijn manager. Op 26 juli vocht hij voor het eerst een wedstrijd onder de naam El Santo in een arena in Mexico-stad.

El Santo
Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta (23 de septiembre de 1917 - 5 de febrero de 1984) mejor conocido como Santo "El enmascarado de plata", fue un actor y luchador profesional mexicano.
El Santo es quizá el más famoso de los luchadores en Latinoamérica, y ha sido referido como "una leyenda" de este deporte en México. Su carrera en la lucha libre duró casi cuatro décadas, durante las cuales se convirtió en un héroe popular y un símbolo de la justicia para el hombre común ya que su personaje trascendió el ámbito de la lucha libre y se transformó en una especie de súper héroe al protagonizar historietas (comics) y películas, de hecho su popularidad y el mito provienen en gran medida de estos últimos medios y no de la lucha libre.
