Eifel

The Eifel is a low volcanic mountain range in western Germany. It occupies parts of southwestern North Rhine-Westphalia and northwestern Rhineland-Palatinate.The Eifel is bordered by the Mosel River in the south and the Rhine in the east. In the north it is continued by the hills of the High Venn (Hohes Venn), in the west by the Ardennes. (Ardennes and Eifel are actually the same geological region. They are a single volcanic field.) The Eifel is a part of the Rheinisches Schiefergebirge.

L'Eifel est une région de collines en Allemagne occidentale, au sud de Cologne, et à l'est des cantons de l'est de la Belgique. Elle occupe le sud-ouest de la Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie et le nord-ouest de la Rhénanie-Palatinat. Elle avoisine la Belgique et le Luxembourg.

Eifel – pasmo górskie w południowo zachodnich Niemczech, w Nadrenii Palatynacie, w sąsiedztwie doliny rzeki Mozela i Ren, wchodzące w skład Reńskich Gór Łupkowych. Część niemieckich gór średniej wysokości (Deutsches Mittelgebirge). Wzniesienia w paśmie nie przekraczają 800 m n.p.m. Najwyższym szczytem jest Hohe Acht (747 m n.p.m.) Największe miasto w pobliżu to Akwizgran.

L'Eifel è un altopiano della Germania occidentale, facente parte del Massiccio scistoso renano, situato tra i Länder (Stati federati della Germania) Renania-Palatinato e Nord Reno-Westfalia, al confine con il Belgio e il Lussemburgo. È compreso tra il medio corso del fiume Reno a oriente, le Ardenne a occidente e la Mosella a Sud. A nord dell'Eifel si trova la città di Aquisgrana, e a sud la città di Treviri.
