Egyptian mythology

Ancient Egyptian religion encompasses the beliefs and rituals of Ancient Egypt. It was followed in Egypt for over three thousand years until the establishment of Coptic Christianity and Islam.Throughout the vast and complex history of Egypt, the dominant beliefs of the ancient Egyptians merged and developed as leaders of different groups gained power. This process continued even after the end of the ancient Egyptian civilization as we know it today. As an example, during the New Kingdom Ra and Amun became Amun-Ra. This "merging" into a single deity is typically referred to as syncretism.

Durant les cinq mille ans de l'histoire de l'Égypte pharaonique, la religion, très présente dans la vie des égyptiens, n'a que peu évolué. Cependant, selon les périodes, certains dieux sont devenus prédominants alors que d'autres passaient au second plan. De plus, chaque culte étant originaire d'une région différente, la place de chaque dieu variait aussi selon la région.

La religione egizia è l'insieme delle credenze religiose, riti e del comportamento dell'antico Egitto, fino all'avvento del Cristianesimo e dell'Islam.Nel passato la religione egizia era considerata come un corpo dottrinale sostanzialmente unitario, caratterizzato da una ininterrotta osservanza da parte del popolo presso il quale si era originato e impermeabile ad influenze esterne o mutamenti evolutivi. Negli ultimi tempi si è andata affermando una scuola di pensiero che tende a considerare le varie dottrine e le pratiche relative al culto distinte tra loro e inserite nel contesto storico-dinamico del loro sviluppo.
