Egyptian Arabic

Egyptian Arabic (Marī مصري) is a variety of the Arabic macrolanguage  of the Semitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family. It originated in the Nile Delta in Lower Egypt around the capital Cairo. Descended from the spoken Arabic brought to Egypt during the AD seventh-century Muslim conquest, its development was influenced mainly by the indigenous Copto-Egyptian language of pre-Islamic Egypt, and later by other languages such as Turkish. Egyptian Arabic is spoken by more than 76 million people in Egypt. It is also understood across the Middle East due to the predominance of Egyptian media, making it the most widely spoken and one of the most widely studied varieties of Arabic.

L'arabe égyptien est la langue parlée en Égypte. Il s'agit de la variété d'arabe dialectal ayant le plus de locuteurs : plus de 78 millions en Égypte et dans d'autres pays où des communautés égyptiennes habitent. De plus, en raison du rayonnement culturel de l'Égypte dans le monde arabophone, il n'est pas rare qu'il soit compris par des personnes parlant des variétés d'arabe pourtant parfois aussi différentes de l'égyptien que ne l'est le roumain du français. Il s'agit de l'un des cinq dialectes arabes les plus enseignés dans le monde, avec le tunisien, l'algérien, le marocain et le syro-libano-palestinien.

Ägyptisch-Arabisch ist ein neuarabischer Dialekt, der durch Filme und Lieder in weiten Teilen der arabischen Welt bekannt ist und von vielen Arabern verstanden wird. Dies liegt vor allem daran, dass Ägypten neben den USA und Indien („Bollywood“) die bedeutendste filmproduzierende Nation der Welt ist. Ägyptische Filme werden im gesamten arabischsprachigen Raum gezeigt, ohne Synchronisation oder Untertitel.

El árabe egipcio es una versión de árabe coloquial hablada en Egipto (78 millones de habitantes). Los dialectos árabes coloquiales normalmente sólo se hablan, no se escriben, pero la gran vitalidad de este dialecto hace que sea uno de los más escritos, especialmente poesía y teatro. Gracias al cine y la televisión, el árabe egipcio es el dialecto más conocido en el mundo árabe. Se comprende bastante bien en los países del Mundo Árabe oriental (Máshreq en árabe), y tiene más diferencias con los dialectos del Magreb, es decir, los países árabes occidentales, aunque también es generalmente comprendido.

ערבית מצרית (العَرَبي المَصري / اللهجة المصرية) הוא הניב הערבי המדובר בצפון עמק הנילוס, כלומר באזור בירת מצרים קהיר ומצפון לה - בדלתה של הנילוס, בעיר אלכסנדריה וכולי. מדריך השפות "אתנולוג" מעריך את מספר דוברי הערבית המצרית ב-44.5 מיליון נפש בערך (נכון ל-1998), אולם סביר להניח כי כל 77.5 מיליון תושבי מצרים מדברים ערבית מצרית ולו במידה מעטה.זהו הניב העיקרי המדובר במצרים, כך שגם תושבי אזורים אחרים של מצרים מסוגלים בדרך-כלל להתבטא בו. מלבד הערבית הספרותית, זהו הניב הערבי המוכר ביותר בעולם הערבי, זאת בשל השפעתה התרבותית הרבה של מצרים. הערבית המצרית היא השפה המשמשת בדיאלוגים בסרטים, במחזות ובתוכניות טלוויזיה המופקים במצרים, ומופצים בקהילות ערביות ברחבי העולם. כמו כן, מצרים הייתה במשך שנים רבות מרכז ההשכלה הגבוהה בעולם הערבי - תושבי ארצות ערב יצאו ללמוד במצרים, ומורים מצרים יצאו ללמד בקהילות ערביות מחוץ למצרים. לפיכך, ערבים רבים מבינים ערבית מצרית ולפעמים אף מסוגלים להתבטא בה, גם במקרים שבהם הניב שהם משתמשים בו בחיי היומיום שונה במידה ניכרת.
