Edinburgh ( ; Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Èideann) is the capital city of Scotland and the seat of the Scottish Parliament. It is the second largest city in Scotland and the seventh most populous in the United Kingdom. The City of Edinburgh Council governs one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas. The council area includes urban Edinburgh and a rural area. Located in the south-east of Scotland, Edinburgh lies on the east coast of the Central Belt, along the Firth of Forth, near the North Sea.

The Edinburgh Football League was formed in 1894 in Scotland as one of several supplementary football leagues that were created in order to increase the number of fixtures for Scottish Football League clubs. It changed its name to the East of Scotland Football League in 1896 when Dundee joined.

Édimbourg (Edinburgh en anglais, Dùn Èideann en gaélique, Edinburrie en scots, Aneda en latin) est une ville de la côte est de l’Écosse, et sa capitale depuis 1437.
