Ecclesiastes
n.
book of the Old Testament thought to be written by King Solomon
Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes (often abbreviated in the bible as Ecc) (
Hebrew: Qohelet) is a book of the
Hebrew Bible. The title derives from the
Greek translation of the
Hebrew book title: קֹהֶלֶת (variously transliterated as Qoheleth, Göhalath, Kohelet, Koheles, Koheleth, or Coheleth). The book title derives from the designation claimed as either the proper name or title (possibly "Assembler") of the author/narrator in the first verse: "The words of Koheleth, son of David, King in Jerusalem."
