EAST
The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST, internal designation HT-7U) is an experimental superconducting tokamak magnetic fusion energy reactor in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province, in eastern China. The experiment is being conducted by the Hefei-based Institute of Plasma Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project was proposed in 1996 and approved in 1998. According to a 2003 schedule, buildings and site facilities were to be constructed by 2003, and tokamak assembly to take place from 2003 through 2005.

Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak
Der Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (kurz: EAST, interne Projektbezeichnung: HT-7U) ist ein experimenteller supraleitender Kernfusionsreaktor vom Tokamak-Typ in Hefei, China. Das Projekt wird vom Institut für Plasmaphysik der Chinesische Akademie der Wissenschaften geleitet. Der Reaktor ist eine Weiterentwicklung von Chinas erstem, gemeinsam mit Russland zu Beginn der 1990er gebauten, Reaktor HT-7 – ebenfalls ein supraleitender Tokamak.

East är en asiatisk restaurang vid Stureplan 13 i Stockholm som öppnade 1991 med bl.a. krogprofilen Erik Videgård. Restaurangen grundades 1989 och hade sina lokaler de första åren på St. Eriksterassen på Kungsholmen.

European Assistance for Science and Technology) Program Pomocy Europejskiej w Dziedzinie Nauki i Technologii - program Unii Europejskiej, , którego nazwa jest akronimem od pełnej angielskiej nazwy programu. Zainicjowany przez Radę Europy w lipcu 1990 r. na wniosek Komisji Europejskiej z dziedziny nauki i technologii skierowany został jako program przedakcesyjny do krajów kandydujących z Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej.

Wschód
Wschód (symbol E, od ang. east) - jedna z czterech głównych stron świata. Odnosi się do punktu horyzontu, w którym wschodzi Słońce w dniu równonocy.
W astronomii wschód oznacza pojawienie się jakiegoś ciała niebieskiego (np. gwiazdy, planety lub satelity) ponad linią horyzontu (np. Wschód Słońca).
Określenie Wschód było także używane w okresie "zimnej wojny dla oznaczenia bloku państw komunistycznych skupionych wokół Związku Radzieckiego. Obecnie nazywane częściej Europa Środkowo-Wschodnia lub Europa Wschodnia.
