The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste , commonly known as East Timor (Tetum: Timór Lorosa'e, ), is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia. It comprises the eastern half of the island of Timor, the nearby islands of Atauro and Jaco, and Oecusse, an exclave  on the northwestern side of the island, within Indonesian West Timor. The small country of 15,410 km² (5,400 sq mi) is located about 640 km (400 mi) northwest of Darwin, Australia.

Die Demokratische Republik Timor-Leste, im Deutschen auch als Osttimor bezeichnet, ist ein Inselstaat in Südostasien. Es war der erste Staat, der im 21. Jahrhundert unabhängig wurde. Die einzige Landgrenze trennt Osttimor vom indonesischen Westteil der Insel Timor, der zu der Provinz Nusa Tenggara Timur gehört, ebenso wie die nordwestlich gelegene Insel Alor. Nördlich liegt die Insel Wetar und nordöstlich weitere Inseln der indonesischen Provinz Maluku. Australien liegt südlich, jenseits der Timorsee.

Le Timor oriental, Timor-Oriental ou Timor-Leste (Timor Leste en portugais, Timór Loros'ae en tétoum, Timor Timur en indonésien), la République démocratique du Timor oriental pour les usages officiels, est un pays d'Asie. Le pays est constitué de la moitié orientale de l'île de Timor - d'où son nom, des îles d'Atauro et Jaco et de l'Oecussi-Ambeno, une enclave située dans la partie occidentale de l'île de Timor, entourée par le Timor occidental sous souveraineté indonésienne.

Östtimor, formellt Demokratiska republiken Östtimor, är en stat i sydöstra Asien. Landet utgörs av den östliga delen av ön Timor och en exklav på den västra delen av ön.

Timor Wschodni (Demokratyczna Republika Timoru Wschodniego) – państwo na wyspie Timor w Archipelagu Malajskim, 450 km na północ od Australii. Do 1975 jako Timor Portugalski, w 1976 anektowany przez Indonezję, czego nigdy nie uznała Organizacja Narodów Zjednoczonych. Od 1999 pod administracją ONZ. Pełna niepodległość od 20 maja 2002. Od zachodu graniczy z Indonezją.
