EP

"EP" redirects here Extended play (EP) is the name typically given to vinyl records or CDs which contain more music than a single, but are too short to qualify as albums. Usually, an EP has around 10–25 minutes of music, a single has up to 10 minutes and an album has 25–80 minutes.EPs were released in various sizes in different eras. In the 1950s and 1960s, EPs were typically 45 RPM recordings on 7" (18cm) disks, with two songs on each side.

Eine EP (für Extended Play bzw. auch Extended Player, wobei die Kurzform EP gebräuchlich ist) ist eine Sonderform der Single. Die EP steht zwischen der Single (Short-Play) und dem Album (Long-Play). Meist sind es Schallplatten oder CDs, die zu viele Stücke enthalten, um als Single zu gelten, aber auch kein vollständiges Album bilden. Deshalb werden sie auch oft als „Mini-Album“ bezeichnet.

EP (skrót od ang. Extended Play) - minialbum. Symbolem EP oznacza się płyty muzyczne (kompaktowe albo winylowe), które są zbyt długie by nazwać je singlem (do trzech utworów, poniżej 10 minut), ale zbyt krótkie by zakwalifikować je jako pełnoprawny album długogrający - LP (co najmniej osiem piosenek, powyżej 25 minut). Czasami stosuje się termin MCD oznaczający minialbum wydany na płycie kompaktowej.

Extended Play (o EP) è il nome dato nel settore discografico ai dischi in vinile o ai CD la cui durata sia superiore a un singolo e inferiore a un album.Solitamente un EP in vinile contiene quattro tracce e gira a 45 giri. Se invece gira a 33 giri si usa la denominazione Q Disc. Quando le tracce cominciano ad essere cinque o più ci si trova più propriamente davanti ad un mini album, mentre nel caso di 45 giri con tre canzoni vengono usate altre denominazioni (in genere disco tris) e, comunque, viene seguita la stessa numerazione di catalogo dei 45 giri (mentre gli Extended Play seguono una numerazione propria).
